"A
Curious Case of Life"
Date
of Redemption
Matthew
18:2-3 He called a
little child and had him stand among them. And he said: "I
tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children,
you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
Devotional
Recently
I went to see a new movie release, “The Curious Case of Benjamin
Button” staring actor Brad Pitt. The film is about a child born
with the infirmities of an eighty year old man who grows younger
as he ages. The film reflects the fear and the courage of being
transformed by the passing of time. My heart melted with tears throughout
the various scenes as the paradox of this story reflected the spiritual
and physical transition of life. In the story the actor starts at
the end of his beginning. In our growing relationship with God,
we seek to come to an end of self.
In
the movie the younger man is growing into his childhood and decides
to prepare his wife and family by selling his business and assets.
He was now ready to finish the life that he had been given. At the
end of self, we begin life with Christ eternally. When Jesus left
the desert after forty days and forty nights, he was at the end
of himself and was ready to begin his journey back home. He was
ready to give all of himself for the glory of God. Jesus Christ
set the highest example of spiritual maturity. In the balance toward
the end time, Christians must surrender their worldly values in
exchange for victory over life and death. Whatever is holding you
back, break it off and move forward.

In
the book of Mathew Jesus is calling us into an ageless time as we
prepare to be redeemed by our Creator. Consider the case of Benjamin
Button, an old man growing young. Consider the heart of a child
who is willing to give his five barley loaves and two fishes to
Jesus. Consider the miracle of the feeding of five thousand when
Jesus was looking for the heart of a child, someone who would give
all that they had. In the final scene of the movie, The Curious
Case of Benjamin Button, an ageless baby dies in the arms of his
wife who had grown old. Consider the joy of knowing the kingdom
of God awaits you. Be refined and ready as you receive the balance
of your life.

Poem "Date of Redemption"
Yes,
I am kingdom bound, faithful and bold
I
am growing young, as the days grow old
Yes,
I am waiting for redemption at Heaven's gate
I
am going out with Jesus on a very special date.
Prayer
Thank
you dear Lord, we love you so much, we stand in the Light of Heaven
waiting for your glorious entrance. Send us the smell of blooms
growing in the gardens of Heaven. Oh Holy Spirit, send the river
that makes the old dance like children in the wind. I say to the
trees, prepare to catch your leaves. I say to the children of God,
prepare for the Bride Groom is coming!
Beware
darkness of the light you keep, the timekeeper is coming to announce
your defeat. Amen
Pass
This On
Pass
this on to a friend.
Thank
You for sharing the good news.
