Praise
the Lord!
This
past week for me was filled with confusion. I felt like I had lost
my mind, so many distractions that almost took my focus away from
God. Many of us face this issue, don't we? We would in some point
in our life have a situation that seems next to impossible for us
to handle and we would as believers surrender the whole issue to
God and be elevated to a new level of faith in Him. We would have
so much faith that even when the situation around us goes from bad
to worse to ugly, we would still rejoice in the Lord.

This
is what happened to me. I have been absolutely focused on God and
the fact that Jesus is fighting the battle for me and that I don't
have to, for even a second fear looking at my natural surroundings
but instead know that things are going to turn out to be good as
I see God moving in the supernatural realm.
Many
a times what happens to us as believers is that we get attacked
spiritually. It's one of the way how the devil operates. Did you
know that the devil can't stand you being happy? Well, I have known
this, but I experienced it more witness in this last week.
The
bible tells us to rejoice in the Lord during all circumstances .
“Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I
will say, rejoice!” (Philippians 4:4).
Think
about it, why would the bible say such a thing?
Obviously
God wants us to be happy at all times and when you say you Trust
somebody, it translates to the fact that you would carry on with
your other work and let this person look after things that you trust
him with. Now just imagine how much our Father in Heaven can do
when we say, “Father, I trust you in Jesus name”. Let us reflect
back to the title of this week's topic – At
all times do we listen to God's instructions? Be
it in good times or bad are we attentive enough to hear what God
says?
Like
I said earlier I was under a huge dilemma that was overwhelming
for me. I soon began to crib to God asking him to help me get over
these issues and I almost lost my sense of direction. Reason being
I wasn't being attentive. I let my voice take control (cribbing)
and lost my focus on God's instruction and thus didn't know what
I was doing. All of a sudden I just wanted to give up on what I
was fighting for. The only good thing I was doing was I continued
to pray! What was different was, I wasn't using faith words in my
prayer!
In
other words, I was telling God that “ this is really hard for
me to handle, please help me with this issue, I can't take it anymore
”. This was not how I prayed earlier. I used to pray saying
“ Father I know that this issue seems to be impossible for me
to handle, but I am a child of the Most High God for whom nothing
is impossible, I will not fear instead I surrender myself and my
problems to you and I will rejoice in the Lord for I know this is
done in Jesus name ”.
Do
you see the difference? At the end of the week I sat down, I was
still and did not crib about my circumstances when out of no where
I heard a voice speak with in me saying. Tina the distractions that
came your way the past few days were to test your faith. When you
had just one major issue and when you put your trust in God you
seemed to have complete focus, but the minute other issues crossed
your path you not only got distracted but also started losing your
faith on the one major issue that you have been fighting for.
What
this meant was that in life you won't battle just one problem. You
will encounter so many different issues some important and some
not and if you ask me what I learnt this past week is that, had
I paid attention to the voice inside of me asking me to stay focused
and calm I wouldn't have had to go through this whole dilemma.
People
of God I urge you today to not get affected by your natural surroundings
for we have a super natural break through coming our way. I also
realized that we don't crib when we are happy but in our happiness
we might still miss out on what God instructs. Hence, at all times
keep your spiritual ears and eyes open and we will be in a position
not only to understand God's plan and will for us but also will
be able to make some good decisions.
Through
out the bible you will find verses that continually say how important
it is for us to LISTEN. Here are some verses for your reference.
"(Jesus
said) Let any with ears listen!" (Mat 11:15. "And now,
my child, listen to me, and donot depart from the words of my mouth."
(Prov 5:7)
And this is one of my favorite verses. "You
must understand this, my beloved: Let everyone be quick to
listen, slow to speak, slow to anger". (James 1:19).
Precious
people of God say this prayer today and see God work wonders in
your life.

Father
in heaven, I want to thank you for being so wonderful to me. Lord,
give a mind and a heart that would attentive to your words at all
times. Help us dear Father to differentiate the voices in our head
and to Listen to you under ever circumstance in Jesus most precious
name I pray. Amen
