"Voice of A Missionary" by Danny B. Smith

Cast
Away "Separated for His Glory"
Matthew 9:9 As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector's booth. "Follow me," he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him.
In
a heart compelling movie called “Cast Away” the actor Tom
Hanks, portrays a man separated from the world and abandon
on a tropical island, in an effort to find his way home, he builds
a raft and set sail in hope of finding
his way home, adrift upon the sea, he awakens
to the sound of a cruise ship and is finally returns
home to a hero's welcome.
The final chapter closes with a twist as he seek
to be united with his family, his wife has moved on and remarried.
Hurt beyond measure, he is once alone with just enough hope to
keep going.
My
devotional is a reflection of this story, that we as Christian become
separated from the world as we draw closer to God and more refine in Christ as we make our way through the most difficult
times.
The ministry of Christ sometimes took him away from the world
that he was sent to save. It comes a point in our faith that we
have to become castaways in search of our divine purpose.
Today a friend received a comment on facebook.com that reminded me that we must be separated from the physical nature of the world, that as we grow in our faith that we may have to suffer the pain of knowing the perfect will of God. The higher we climb, the higher we rise to the hit list of our enemies. Being Holy and full of God's Spirit has a price. The growth and the opposition that comes is a parallel experience, you might have to rebuke an attack from behind while you are praying for a lost soul in front of you, it goes with the territory and the mantle of a fearless warrior of God.
To love God is to separate yourself for his purpose and glory, even sometime like the actor Tom Hanks in "Cast Away, we might suffer, we might have to let go of everything that we love and hold dear, we may even have swallow the lost of someone or something that we wanted in our lifetime. Praise God!
Closing Prayer:
Dear God, you know us so well, I come by way of prayer for those who are struggling with the separation that is required for the fearless warrior of today Christian world. Hear my plea oh Father, teach us how to go outside of walls that limit our faith, the walls that keep in fear, the doors the say don't leave this tradition, this culture or this safe way of thinking. Guide oh Holy Spirit in the perfect will of God and not our own permissive will. Separated us dear Father, bring us to the end of self. We pray not to provoke or limit your presence dear Lord. Have patience upon your creation, we do love you and seek to know you in thou perfect way.
In Jesus Name, Amen
