"The
Debt of Compassion"

Matthew
22:34-40 But when the Pharisees heard that He had put the Sadducees
to silence, they gathered themselves together. And one of them,
a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, "Teacher, which
is the greatest commandment in the Law?" And He said to him,
"'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and
with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and
foremost commandment. The second is like it, 'You shall love your
neighbor as yourself.' On these two commandments depend the whole
Law and the Prophets."
Can
you imagine the beauty of God's creation illuminating high into
the Heavens? Let us consider that God is watching the many souls
that are learning to love for the first time. It is like a baby
who takes his first step. God loves us so much that He allowed His
son to die on the cross so the soul of mankind would be saved.
This
devotional is about learning to love every life that God has created.
From a distance from Heaven, I believe that we are like a galaxy
of colors, a symphony of languages from around the world. It is
my belief that God wants us to be in harmony with our brother and
sisters of different colors. We don't have to like our neighbors,
but we must love them. In the bible the debt of the law is clear,
that we must reach out to others to demonstrate the character of
Christ by loving the unlovable, by sharing the gift of compassion
and mercy. It has been difficult for society in part to embrace
what is different, to love the intrusive neighbor who walks around
looking for food and shelter.

The bible tells us that,“The poor will always be with you, but you
will not always have me" (Matt 26: 11). The question that each
of us must ask ourselves is, do we practice loving our neighbors!
There is a phrase, “out of sight, out of mind” when generally defined
means; The idea that something is easily forgotten or dismissed
as unimportant if it is not in our direct view. Some of our unlovable
neighbors have become thorns in the side of our communities. The
colors of love are all the souls God has created in His own image.
In
Romans 13:8 and 10, the word says; Let no debt remain outstanding,
except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves
his fellowman has fulfilled the law. 10 Love does not harm its neighbor.
Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. In the law of the
land, it is generally accepted that not knowing is not a defense
for negligence. We have a responsibility to love the people that
God has created. The elderly soul who spends Christmas alone, the
families who hide out of shame, the homeless women whose mind has
been broken by the struggle to survive, these and many more are
the reasons not to neglect or step away away and let someone else
pickup the burden..
Today
I need your help to share this devotional message by passing this
gift on to someone who might be motivated to reach out and talk
to a wandering soul that you don't know. It would personally
mean a lot to our ministry for God.

Let
Us Pray
We welcome the manifestation of the Holy Spirit of God during this
prayer of healing and deliverance. Come Spirit of God, fall upon
the faces of life. Touch our hearts in a new way; shake us awake.
Remind us what we are supposed to be doing. Teach us how to love
the colors of life created by God.
In
Jesus Name Amen.
