Dark
Matter
"The
Day of Confrontation with Evil"

Psalms
139:12 even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will
shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. Webster
defines matter as anything that has mass
and occupies a volume
.
My
brothers and sisters, as we step closer to God's plan, let us grip
the sword that must be used to strike the enemy. In these
days to come, the darkness I speak of will often try to imitate
the light of God. For my family it was during a moment of
frustration, I had stepped away to correct myself in order to manage
a difficult situation. I drove two block to think and to speak
to God. As I stood looking across the park down from my house,
a young man in dark clothes came up behind me. It was as if
I had turn just in time to discourage the intent of this unknown
person walking in the dark. My devotional is about dark matter and
the day of confrontation with evil. My friends we will not always
be able to avoid a confrontation with darkness and the evil that
comes to destroy our path to righteousness. Evil grows and sometimes
takes on a massive disposition to throw us off course. The trick
will always be to grab our attention long enough to make us dependent
on anything other than God. When we think of darkness, we usually
think of a place without light. Darkness can sometimes be seen in
the light of a beautiful day.
The
smallest of problems can create disorder when we neglect our duties
as Christians and as caretakers. It is our human nature to want
to keep everyone happy. We often compromise as a way out from dealing
with pain and unhappiness. Recently I found myself cornered with
a situation at home. In a short time my daughter had master the
art of getting her way. My Grandmother use to say, “Spare the rod
and spoil the child”. I was brought up in a physically abusive home
that left me post traumatic toward physical punishment. Because
of this I believe more in taking away certain privileges.
Taking
away my daughter's computer access was more painful than words or
physical punishment. Every now and then talks and punishment doesn't
work. The situation becomes dark in matter. We then have to take
responsiblity in order to shut down the enemy's access to our families.
I seldom raise my voice, but sometimes the situation will
take you to that point. The character of a family member or
even a friend can be completely out of order and disrespectful.
As caretakers we will often want to keep our love ones from crying
or feeling hurt by a situation. In some cases, it can be two against
one. In an assertive moment, I decided that I was the head
and not the tail. As a father, I am sometimes at a loss for words
at home. Most eleven year olds that can out spell you, can out talk
you. However, my battle was not against my daughter, but my battle
was with the dark matter that wanted to invade it's reflection upon
my family. As I am using my family for an example, I want you to
look to your own lives and ask if there is a dark matter in your
life.
In the book of Hosea 3:1, God has called the prophet to love his
wife again. As she has stepped into darkness, the light of God reflected
by the Prophet's love as God had commanded became a light to her
salvation. In my case, the character of Christ must always be reflected
in how we dissolve dark matter in our personal lives. In 1st Corinthian,
13:13, the bible says, “But now faith, hope, love, abide these three;
but the greatest of these is love.” One of our greatest weapons
against dark matter is love and sometimes even tough love. It is
our greatest gift to our families. It will hurt at times, but in
the end we would have honored God. We must keep in mind that
darkness is just a distraction, it is not real and it has no power
over God.

Dear
Father in Heaven, Let the winds carry your Holy Spirit into the
valley of our lives. Give us authority over the atmosphere
that demons cast their shadows in. Rain your presence upon
the dark matter that trys to lead us the wrong way. Let your
lessons of love guide our wisdom. We pray for deliverance
in the moment of conflict and darkness. Draw us into your
light, teach us how to walk through the valley and not in it. In
Jesus Name Amen.
Pass
This On
"Every
week we have seven days to find one soul that doesn't know the love
of God" Ask God to show that one soul that need to be found. Take
the time to share the gift of love and fellowship. Allow your heart
to embrace the suffering of others".
