Building Purple Ark

Dear Readers:

This a personal note in regards to the progress and the development of Purple Ark Ministries Incorporated.  The ministry is a personal vision manifested by GOD.  The purpose of our outreach and relief effort has been defined by the community and the churches.

This mission effort belongs to each one of us.  It is not about me.  It is about love and compassion to the spiritually poor.   It is about our first love which is God.  It is about exercising our gifts to help others.

Although many will assemble to receive the message of Thanksgiving & Christmas, we do not have enough volunteers and mission directors to cover the areas that need relief and transitional support.  We lost some key people last year who were essential to the labor and preparation for all our relief missions and events.    I am extremely grateful for the support we have received thus far.  I am not discouraged when we are short on resources.

Four months ago, an attorney (pro-bono) from Laguna Hills agreed to help restructure Purple Ark Ministries and convert our volunteer efffort to a 501(c)3 non-propfit Christian Corporation.  An unknown private person paid for the fees to complete all of our state and federal requirements.

Our short term goal is simple, continue what we have been doing for the past four years.  We are awaiting the completion of our federal requirements for tax exemption.  This should be done in 3-4 months.  We have just completed the selections of Officers and Board of Directors for 2009.

We are running out of storage space in our garage.  I am actually happy about that!  Seriously though, we want to be able to store thousands of items that are needed to help each community that is struggling economically.  We are still learning to work with less. Our most immediate need is space.   Please pray that we find a building.

Our toy drive "Kids Without Christmas" is coming up in December.  We have lost some of our resouces from last year and the number of families that need help has increased.

Our long term goal for Purple Ark Ministries is to serve at risk communities around the world with evangelism, God's love and economic relief.  This is going to happen!  We are all part of the body of Christ.  We can use this inclusive effort to bring church communities together to serve and to experience the power of evangelism.

After talking with my wife, I realize that some of our dreams may have to wait until  2009.

Please email me your thoughts and ideas.

God Bless U

Danny & Marla.
