Mothers
Day Devotional Part 2
“
Birth of a Purpose”
Suffering
is a privilege. We have been given the privilege not only of trusting
Him but also of suffering for Him. Philippians 1:29
I
recall when my daughter was born and how my wife suffered as she
prepared to bring life into the world. I was frightened by the entire
process. At one point I was doing some breathing exercises to help
my wife give birth and the next thing I knew, the nurses where picking
me up from the floor. I really felt like I was going to have a baby
too. Today I want to talk to you about the labor pains and the birth
of a purpose. I have always admired women who have labored to bring
new life into this world. The sacrifice that God expects from each
of us is greater than life. When a mother embraces a nine month
journey to give life, she takes on the emotional trauma and selfless
risk that sometimes threatens her well being.
The
birth of Purple Ark Ministries has not been without labor and pains.
A few months back my wife came to me and said, “God wants us to
learn how to do more with less”. After working so hard to reach
God's purpose, I could not imagine doing more with less. Regardless,
my wife and I have chosen to continue our labor of love for the
glory of God's Kingdom.

When
you are carrying something that belongs to God, people will turn
away from you, laugh at you and become critical of anything you
do. Just like Mary when God has chosen you to do something for his
glory, you don't get to abort that purpose. The Virgin Mary
labored quietly as people refused to help her during her pregnancy
with Christ. My family and I have been hit with everything
you can think of. The fear that my wife and I once had is gone.
Whatever God gives you to carry, you must protect it with your life.
In
closing let us look to the purpose of Christ. After spending
forty days and nights in the desert, Jesus was ready to complete
his purpose on earth. I now know the cost of loving God so much.
As
we look to Mother's Day, let all of us learn how too labor the pain
of God's purpose. It may be in just sharing in the burden of your
wife or family member. It may be the fearless sacrifice of helping
a homeless soul. It may be the act of embracing someone that everyone
else has written off.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, give us the strength to carry your purpose to the end.
We are so close. Help us to endure the pain that come
with our labor of purpose. Oh Lord, teach each one of us how
to carry the cross. Help us to come to the end of our selves. Teach
us how to walk through the valley and not in it. Send
your angels to help us reach the birth of your purpose. In
Jesus name Amen.
"The
mind of Christ is always of thinking about what God wants, even
when it hurts"
Pass
This On
"Every
week we have seven days to find one soul that doesn't know the love
of God" Ask God to show that one soul that need to be found.
Take the time to share the gift of love and fellowship. Allow your
heart to embrace the suffering of others".
