"New
Creatures In Christ"
2Co
5:17 Wherefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: the
old things are passed away; behold, they are become new.
As
a believer in Jesus Christ, you are a new creation. Your heart has
been transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit. Christians have
been changed in the heart and fulfill a new destiny towards heavenly
realms. God renews a right spirit within you and forever brings
you into subjection to the power of His calling.
No
longer are you a child of Satan as you once were in the world. You
have put away all things with Satan - pride, slander, lust, coveting,
tongue lashing, idol worship, perversions, sexual immorality, hatred
and many others.
Faith
draws you near to God and through your faith, you depend upon the
richness of Jesus Christ not the prideful nature of human counsel
we once attained to. Our riches are in a new creature that the Holy
Spirit molds us into during our journey with Jesus. We are the clay
and are submissive to the hands of the potter to mold us into a
works to glorify Him and Him alone.
The
word creature is used numerous times throughout the bible. As Christians,
we indeed are eternally changed.
Rom
1:20 For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world
are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made,
even his everlasting power and divinity; that they may be without
excuse:
Mar
16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach
the gospel to the whole creation.
Mar
16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that
disbelieveth shall be condemned.
Col
1:23 if so be that ye continue in the faith, grounded and stedfast,
and not moved away from the hope of the gospel which ye heard, which
was preached in all creation under heaven; whereof I Paul was made
a minister.
God
is the master of all creation. He spoke and the creation was revealed.
We too are His creation to be conformed into His image and to give
Him praise and worship.
So,
key concepts of becoming a new creature through the power of Christ
are:
Faith
Repentance
Acceptance
Grounding in the Word
Prayer
As
you walk in your new spirit of life; you will be tempted, admonished,
and chastised for your faith. Can you stand as Jesus taught against
the storms of rain and wind which hailed against the house or will
your house fall to the wind and rain which washes away the foundation?
The
God that changed your heart can change those around you who look
at you differently now that you are a Christian. Your newness of
life will bring questions and attacks or may bring a desire by those
who know you to ask you, “What is different about you now?” Are
you prepared to give to them the knowledge of Christ through your
testimony? Christ changes everything and with that change derives
power and assurance of your eternal destiny.
We
become grafted into the vine as a branch and that vine is none other
than Jesus Christ. Through Him are all things made that were made
and by Him are all things held together. Christ forever holds you
in His hands that no man can pluck you out. God reconciled us to
Him through His only son Jesus Christ who was without sin a perfect
sacrifice obedient to the calling that God the Father gave to Him.
We
are alive as a new creature tasked to preach the gospel and honor
the creator. You are alive with newness in spirit and heart so that
all the things of the past are dead and your new self is a reflection
of God's purpose for your life.
Rom
6:11 Even so reckon ye also yourselves to be dead unto sin, but
alive unto God in Christ Jesus.
Jesus
is alive in you that new creature He saved through the power of
the cross and His resurrection. Praise the Lord for your salvation
that He purchased with a great price.
Psa
51:9 Hide thy face from my sins, And blot out all mine iniquities.
Psa
51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; And renew a right spirit
within me.
Psa
51:11 Cast me not away from thy presence; And take not thy holy
spirit from me.
In
closing, Jesus atoned for your sins through the power of the Almighty,
bestowing a free gift within your heart to set you free forever
from the chains of sin, to empower you to walk in faith, joy, steadfastness
in your assurance of salvation, and the freedom to worship without
ceasing.
May
God bless you and keep you in His presence and may His face shine
upon you.
In
Christ,
Dwight
