“The
Nurturing of an
Orphan Tree”
This
poetic message is dedicated to the Ukrainian ophan children being
hosted by American families in nearby communities. Please
support them as they work to find homes for
these children of God.

How
do I count these leaves when they fall so quickly?
How
do I care for these small stems when they are so sickly?

How
can I feed the heart of a soul that is lost in pain?
How
can I feed the hunger that bears no name?

How
can I embrace suffering as a gift?
How
can we save a life constantly a thrift?
How
can we claim pain as part of a victory?
How
can we heal when suffering is our history?
How
can an orphan tree overcome a hurricane?
How
can I accept Christ and not endure their pain?
Prayer:
Oh heavenly father, embrace each ophan tree this day. Shower
us with the water of healing from the Holy Spirit. Oh
wonderful and caring father, we thank you for being our saviour!
Bless these children who come so far, provide a new home for each
branch that has fallen from the tree of life. Teach us how
to embrace the suffering of others, teach us how to love and care
for one another. Prepare the damage that has been done, replace
the sadness with lots of fun. Amen
