Thorns
of Christ
"The
Apathetic Heart"
Mark
3:5 KJV) And when he had looked round about on them with anger,
being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the
man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his
hand was restored whole as the other.
The
word Apathetic means; having or showing little or no feeling or
emotion, a heart having little or no interest or concern. Jesus
grieves for the apathetic heart that lives today. Can you imagine
being so hard that there is no room for compassion or love?
When
a thorn gets caught in the finger, you quickly want to be relieved
of the piercing pain that has entered your flesh. When a friend
brings up a subject that is uncomfortable, the body becomes irritated
and looks to escape from the un-welcome reminder.
I
truly don't believe that we start out our lives being apathetic.
Sometimes we don't even realize that we are lacking in the compassion
or carrying for the suffering of others.
One
of my pastors once told me that I was like a thorn in side of the
church. My response to him was, “Is that bad or good”. He explained
that sometime we have be a constant reminder to others of what God
wants us to do.
We
assume most of the time that everyone that comes to church is on
the path to righteousness. It is uncomfortable to speak out against
what you believe is not right. I don't believe that none of us wants
to be accused of being oppositional, but how do we bring change
to a world that is becoming cold and hard.
I
have lost friends in the past year because of my passion for deliverance.
It sometimes hurt to do what pleases God the most.
I
believe that there is one reader who wants to be a reminder to others
of what Christ died for and a reminder of what we are here for.
I believe that we can do more to honor God. There are thousands
of souls to be saved. It is not about the towering beauty of buildings
and landscapes, it is about stretching out our hand to embrace the
spiritual poverty that is around us. It is about giving all the
glory to God.
Prayer:
Dear
Lord, teach us how be doers of your word. We need your help to make
the first step in honoring you. We want to please you dear God.
Teach us how. Break our hearts until we feel the thorns of Jesus
Christ. Teach us how to love you again. Teach us how to love you
more! In Jesus Name
Amen.
Pass
This On
"Every
week we have seven days to find one soul that doesn't know the love
of God" Ask God to show that one soul that need to be found. Take
the time to share the gift of love and fellowship. Allow your heart
to embrace the suffering of others".
