2 Chronicles
15, He
said: "Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah
and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: 'Do not
be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the
battle is not yours, but God's 17
You
will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions;
stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you,
O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.'"

As
we continue fighting to deliver souls from the dark valleys,
I am paused by the continued presence of the Spirit of God.
In the last 2 months, I have been cautioned to watch and wait
on the Lord. Many times I wait patiently looking for a sign
of hope for the people of God. Today I must ask myself, have
I given my trust onto the Lord? We sometimes become so in
love with the work of God that we forget to be intimate with
God and what His word says. We run to the battlefield crying
charge, charge! We approach the frontline only to realize
that we left the word of God far behind us.

In
this devotional message, I would like to share my experience
in waiting for God. So many things have gone wrong in our
preparation for the Thanksgiving and Christmas outreach to
the poor. Most recently one of my sponsors was unable to keep
their commitment for support. At the same time another resource
pulled their commitment. What could happen next? It seems
some cities are enforcing their ordinances that restrict how
the church serves the poor. I could get upset, protest or
march till I drop, but that would not be trusting in God.
I know I must stay out of the way when the battle is not my
own to fight. My heart is heavy that things have become so
challenging and unbelievably complicated.

In
looking back two years ago the same thing happened to the
ministry of Purple Ark. At that time I was not putting my
full trust in the Lord. I wanted to fix the problem myself.
I felt I had to do something. This year I am full of faith
that God is in control of His creation, “ Watch and wait
I say”! I am not going to get in God's way this time”.
I have chosen to keep my eyes on the prize and not get distracted.

In
waiting for God, you have to understand that what you want
and what God wants is two different things. I believe that
there is going to be a supernatural movement that will change
what is out of order. Correction will come like a rain to
dry land, watch and wait. “I once told a good friend to stay
away from the front door of the church”. With a light gesture
of humor, I said to her,” you don't want to get in God's way
of the pathway of His correction. When we continue to hurt
the souls that we are suppose to love and care for, it will
eventually bring us into judgment. At some point we run out
of time and the opportunity to get right will disappear like
dust in a north wind.

Poetic
Prayer: The End of the Stream
Oh
Father, I have chosen to wait as you prune your garden. Your
will is perfect and blessed with beauty. When shall I smell
the fragrance of blossoms that gleam upon the shifting of
life? I am moved by the waving gesture of my Father's hand.
I
am safe behind the tail of my Father's garment; I am waiting
and watching for the perfect moment. It is the eclipse of
streaming colors that I will wait to see. I will leap upon
the shoulders of angels and cry tears of joy into the sea.
I say to the wind of evil that blows against me, just wait
until my Father comes……
In
Jesus Name
Amen
