Who
is Your Helper?
Praise
the Lord
I
want to ask each of you, who is your helper at times
of trouble or anxiety? I am sure we would say I seek help from my
family members, from my friends, my neighbours etc. I do too. But
I keep wondering why do I wait till the last minute to seek help
from the almighty?
It
is true, I don't think it's just me, But I am admitting to the fact
that I at times go to the Lord as my last option rather than my
first. I wonder later, why didn't I do this right at the beginning?
Sometimes
what happens is when you are surrounded by God's love and presence
and when out of no where there is an obstacle we stumble, we become
blank and in my case my hands immediately dial my friend's numbers
who are believers and sometimes they would be busy and not in a
position to help us out and we would feel all blue and upset.
After
all this we call out to Jesus. Duh! I find myself in this position
many times. It's silly isn't it? Do you recall this verse "There
is a friend who sticks closer than a brother."(Proverbs 18:24)
We
might have friends who are there by our side 24*7, but I can
guarantee you that no friend can be as PERFECT as Jesus is. He is
truly a friend who sticks by us no matter what we do. He will not
stay silent just because you came to him as a last option.
Some
of you might ask , "if you say the Lord won't feel bad if we
go to him in the end, then why are you writing that we should go
to him first"?
The
answer to this is very simple and logical. If you are a best
friend to somebody, wouldn't you expect your friend to share their
joy and happiness and even worries with you? It is the same, Jesus
is never going to force you but I think we can make him happy by
doing so.
I
have decided to try my best and put it into practice to run
to the Lord first and seek help from him.
Keep
this verse in your heart at all times. Don't
worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition
with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God"
(Phillippianns 4:6)
Let us all try to put
this scripture in to practice from today? Even if we fail a number
times let us not give up till we get this accomplished. For Jesus!
Precious
people of God say this prayer today and see God work wonders in
your life:
Father
in heaven, Thank you for being our friend at all times, no matter
what the situation is, no matter how much we fight or argue with
you, your always there to remind us you are gentle and kind. What
a friend we have in you Jesus and we thank you Lord for your acceptance.
Father I pray that you help us to come to you at all times. In good
times and bad help us to know that you are there in Jesus most precious
name we pray. Amen!

Note:
The
bible is full of God's promises to his people. I would
like to encourage you to read such verses and strength your faith.
Blessings
Tina
